•As Wike Says No Big Deal on Fuel Subsidy Removal
Governor of Oyo State Seyi Makinde has said he and former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike have no problem backing the decisions of President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking after their meeting with the President on Friday at the Presidential Villa, Makinde who is elected on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, said they were in the President’s office to express support for his actions.
He said though the removal of subsidy is a tough decision that must be taken, he said they have no problem with it.
“Yes, we discussed it (fuel subsidy). It’s something that is on top of public discussion right now. We know it’s a tough decision for the people and he needs the support of everybody to it see it through,” Makinde said
Speaking on the subsidy, Wike said its not a big deal adding also that it is a tough decision that must be taken by the government.
“We are supporting all the decisions he has taken and it shows that he is prepared for the job.” Wike said
