No fewer than 100 people were kidnapped by suspected bandit in raid across Zamfara communities near Gusau, the state’s capital.
While state authorities and the police are yet to issue statement over the incident, report, however, confirmed the incident as survivors spoke with BBC Hausa.
Recounting the incident, a survivor, whose name was undisclosed, narrated how the communities were suddenly left in turmoil as residents flee out of fear of another attack.
According to the survivor, over 50 people were taken near Sabon Layi while.another 50 were reportedly abducted near Dogon Hayi.
While admitting that the figure is uncertain, the survivor narrated how the bandits had randomly chased people and abduct them.
“The terrorists chase people as if they were hunting animals.
“The pursued people on motorbikes, tracked women inside their homes and abducted them. Some were intercepted while attempting to flee and we’re herded into the bush.” He said.
