A vehicle powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) has exploded while getting refuelled in Edo state.
As seen in a video posted on X the incident left many residents and commuters in panic as many were feared injured.
While the cause of the explosion and number of casualties still remained unknown, the incident has again raised concern over the risk of CNG conversion.
Advocacy for CNG conversion by the Federal Government has been on the on the increase over the constant hike in cost of fuel.
Since the removal of fuel subsidy by President Tinubu, Nigerians have experienced surge in cost of fuel, leading to increase in transportation cost and inflation in price of commodities.
In am effort to reduce transportation cost, the CNG initiative was introduced to ease the burden of fuel subsidy removal.
