There was panic Tuesday morning in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, as an explosion rocked three offices of the state secretariat.
The cause of the explosion was not known , but NPO Reports gathered that the explosions affected the office of the Secretary to the State Government, the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
According to information provided by the Police, it was learnt that a suspicious object was sighted in the mosque located in the premises for which the police were contacted.
Commissioner of Police Edward Egbuka, explained that the explosion was as a result of detonation by his operatives who were sent
He said, “Yes, what happened was “we were informed of a package that looked like a bomb was left on the premises and I immediately deployed the bomb disposal unit there to assess the object.
“The object was immediately blown up, the explosion you heard was the handwork of our bomb disposing unit brought about by their efforts to blow up the object.
“Investigation has also commenced,” he said
