Another near-mishap along Kaduna-Abuja rail line has left passengers in panic as train travelling from Kaduna to Abuja derailed leaving some of its cabins overturned.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning shortly after the train left Abuja around 11am.
One of the passengers described the scene as chaotic, with people scrambling in panic to safety.
Security sources report that military personnel have been deployed to the site to assist in evacuating stranded passengers.
It however remains unclear what caused the derailment as well as number of casualties involved in the incident.
The NRC is also yet to issue a statement regarding the incident as at the time of filing this report.
