President Bola Tinubu has on Wednesday thrown shades at the National Opposition Coalition Group (NOCG), urging Nigerians not to pay attention to the group he labelled Internally Displaced Politicians (IDPs).
Tinubu stated this while speaking at a town hall meeting with stakeholders of Nasarawa state on Wednesday.
NPO Reported that the President had arrived at Lagos, the state capital, for a one-day working visit which saw him commission projects executed by the state governor, Abdullahi Sule, while also engaging with the state’s stakeholders.
Meanwhile, the Tinubu-led administration had overtime come under heavy criticism especially by opposition politicians.
As part of the move to oust the President out of power by 2027, the opposition politicians spearheaded by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and flanked by the likes of ex-Kaduna governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, amongst others created the NOCG which has now made move to create a coalition party.
Reacting to the group’s submission of letter of intent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the creation of the new coalition party, All Democratic Alliance (ADA), Tinubu in his address urged Nasarawa stakeholders to ignore the coalition which he described as political IDPs.
“Those who have triggered the allied politics in the partition of coalition suddenly, just don’t pay them any attention. They are the political IDPs.
“Don’t give them a home. The home is here. Sule is doing well. We will support whatever a governor Sule brings about to work harder for the prosperity of Nasarawa state. That’s what we stand for.” He said.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to reviving Nigeria’s economy as he again commended Sule for utilising the resources available to him in championing Nasarawa state’s development.
“We’ve cut the waste. You’ve listened to a Dele Alake. I won’t go much on the economic dynamism that we are facing. But the hope is here. From this moment on, you will have no regrets.
“I could see hardwork coming from A.A. Sule. Determined to use the resources available to him for the benefit, stability, and prosperity of Nasarawa State. Sule is doing well because a Bola Tinubu is doing well too.” He added.
