A Nigerian social media influencer, Sandra Benede, has claimed that popular TikToker, Habeeb Hamzat (Peller) has been found by police hours after kidnap.
NPO Reported that tension had brewed in the online space following Peller’s alleged kidnap in Lagos.
Multiple sources claimed that the TikToker had gone out in his neighborhood to get food at a restaurant and was driving back home when he was waylaid by some gun-wielding unidentified men on Wednesday evening.
The moment of the alleged kidnap was captured by the TikToker in his livestream.
He could be heard in the now viral clip of the livestream challenging the suspected kidnappers for pointing gun at him.
While no official statement has been released to confirm the incident, Benede, in a post shared on X on Thursday, claimed that the TikToker has been rescued and currently in Police custody.
She shared a chat with her source who confirmed that Peller has been rescued.
Benede however dismissed claims that the kidnap of the TikToker was a prank.
“They’ve seen him. They never gave details, but they said DPO has seen him. Peller is fine now, but he is fine. Everybody should calm down. Guys it was not a prank. I swear with my life, it was not a prank. It was serious. But thank God for everything.” She said.
