The 2023 Labour Party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has met with Quadri Alabi, the boy who stood in front of his Convoy during his Presidential campaign in Lagos.
NPO Reported that the 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged to court after being framed up by suspected hoodlums at his family’s residence in Amukoko, Ajeromi-Ifelodun area of Lagos over his refusal to share his proceeds from the campaign with them.
The Apapa Magistrate court had remanded him in Kirikiri maximum prison where he spent three months over alleged involvement in armed robbery.
His plight, however, surfaced online, leading to the intervention of Human Rights activist, Inibehe Effiong, who oversaw his acquittal and discharge following the resumption of the his trial on Thursday.
Hours after his release , Inibehe took to his X handle to solicit for assistance for the boy’s family in order to relocate them from their Amukoko residence as they were reportedly still threatened by the hoodlums.
The Human Rights lawyer, in a post shared on his X handle on Friday, Effiong diclosed the Peter Obi’s meeting with the boy and his family.
According to the post, the former Anambra state governor promised to help Quadri get necessary training or education.
“We had a very engaging and productive meeting with Mr. @PeterObi in Lagos today to discuss the case of Quadri Alabi.
“He made a commitment to help Quadri to get the necessary training or education that he desires and deserves.” Inibehe wrote.
