2023 Labour Party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has offered to fulfill the N30 million bail conditions of embattled Human Rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi.
This was announced by the Coordinator of the Obidient Movement on Friday.
Obi’s offer is coming after a Federal High Court granted Farotimi a ₦30 million bail following the defamation charges filed against him.
According to reports, Farotimi, known for his outspoken criticism of systemic issues in Nigeria, has faced public attention and support throughout the legal proceedings.
Obi had, however, expressed gratitude to the courts and all parties involved.
He called for a resolution in the best interests of the legal system and all stakeholders.
Meanwhile, the Obidient Movement continues to rally around Farotimi, underscoring the need for justice and transparency in Nigeria’s judicial processes.
Farotimi’s case is scheduled for further hearing in January 2025.
