Reality TV star Josephina Otabor, fondly known as Phyna, has defeated Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing in the fourth round of their celebrity boxing bout.
The event, held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, on October 1,
Phyna and Nkechi Blessing went head-to-head in a scheduled four-round contest, with the former Big Brother Naija winner securing victory through a knockout in the final round.
The victory made Phyna the winner of what was billed as Nigeria’s first female celebrity boxing bout.
Following her win, Phyna called out Nollywood actress, Etinosa Idemudia, who was present at ringside, as a potential next opponent.
Phyna alleged that Etinosa had been sending her provocative messages and said she was ready to settle the issue in the ring.
“I came in, and I kept my cool and did the thing. Now I would like to fight Etinosa. I think it is time I teach her a lesson,” Phyna said.
Etinosa immediately accepted the challenge, telling Phyna she would not back down from a fight.
“I have been advising you to carry the Edo name with pride. We do not run from any fight. I accept the challenge fully,” she said.
For her victory, Phyna reportedly received ₦50 million alongside the championship belt and a brand-new car.
