Plateau state governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has approved the implementation of N70,000 Minimum Wage for workers in the state.
This was made known in a statement issued by the state’s Head of Service (HoS) Stephen Pam, in Jos on Thursday.
Pam said that the approval followed the agreement by the Committee on Consequential Adjustment on Salaries signed on Nov. 13.
He said that the move demonstrates government’s commitment toward the welfare and wellbeing of workers in the state.
The HoS, however, called on all workers in the state to be more committed and dedicated toward the discharge of their duties.
Meanwhile, the development saw Plateau state becoming the 13th state in Nigeria to approve the new minimum wage ahead of the December 1st ultimatum given to all 36 states by the Nigerian Labour Congress for the approval of the new minimum wage.
