The Nigerian Police Force have arraigned Ogun state monarch, the Olorile of Orile-Ifo, Oba Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi, over assault on community leader, Chief Arinola Abraham.
This is coming hours after the Ogun monarch was invited by the state Police Command for probing over the viral video where he was captured physically and verbally assaulting Arinola in public.
The Force spokeperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed in a post on X on Tuesday that the monarch was arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, assault and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
He was reportedly arraigned alongside one other elderly man before an undisclosed court.
The court, however, granted Ogunjobi bail while adjourning the case to the 6th of March 2025.
“The Kabiyesi Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi, who assaulted one elderly man in a viral video, in Ifo Ogun State, has been charged to court today 4th February, 2025, on three-count charge of conspiracy, assault and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
“He was granted bail while the case was adjourned to 06/03/2025.
“The police will continue to uphold the rule of law and the core values of the noble profession.” Adejobi wrote.
