Lagos Police has presented two suspected, Chiagoziem Obi, and Joseph Nkpokpo, before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, over alleged stealing of chairs valued N9.6million.
Standing trial before Magistrate A. Alade, the suspects were placed on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing, which they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, however told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Sept. 21, at Olojo Drive in Ojo Lagos.
She alleged that the defendants conspired to steal 40 pieces of chair brand known as Airport chairs, all valued at N9.6 million.
The chairs were said to be property of the complainant, Mr James Uzomiwu.
This, according to the prosecution counsel, contravened the provisions of Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
However, the Magistrate granted bail to each defendant in the sum of N1million respectively, with two sureties each in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Oct. 17 for mention.
