The Kano State Police Command has arrested one Abba Aliyu over alleged armed robbery.
Aliyu was apprehended by operatives attached to the Anti-Daba Unit of the state’s command.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa in Kano on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the arrest of the 26‑year‑old resident of Dala Quarters followed a prompt response to an armed‑robbery report at Hausawa Quarters on Sunday, following which a sharp knife was recovered from the suspect.
During interrogation, Aliyu confessed to multiple armed robberies and rivalry “Daba” fights in Gobirawa Gangare, Dala, Tudun Fulani Mayanka Quarters.
The suspect further admitted involvement in series of armed robberies that resulted in deaths, injuries, and loss of property across Kano and Lagos States as well as Rivers.
Kiyawa said that investigation was ongoing and the case would be charged to Court upon the completion of the file.
The Commissioner of Police,Mr Ibrahim Bakori, commended the officers for the notable arrest.
He urged the public to continue cooperating with the police by reporting any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest station.
