The Kano State Police Command has arrested a wanted notorious thug, Sunusi Dawa Kamsusi, and nine others over alleged armed robbery, house breaking, theft, drug trafficking, and destruction of vigilante group facilities.
This was confirmed in a statement issued by the command’s Spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, in Kano on Friday.
According to Kiyawa, Kamsusi and the other suspects were arrested following a letter of complaint from Hannu Da Yawa Youth Development Association Bachirawa (HADAYA).
The letter reportedly contained public outcry by residents of Bachirawa, Kurna, Rijiyar Lemo, Zango, Kunture, and neighbouring communities about the activities of Kamsusi’s gang.
In reaction, the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, directed a team from the Anti-Daba Unit to arrest the perpetrators, resulting in the recovery of three knives and a suspected charm from the prime suspect.
During investigation, the suspect confessed to various crimes, with 30 people lodging complaints against the gang.
The police vowed to charge the suspects to court upon completion of the investigation.
