The Nigerian Police Force has detained officer caught in viral video of Naira abuse involving Wahab Okoya, son of Nigerian billionaire, Rasaq Okoya, and one of his brothers.
This was made known in a statement issued on Force X handle on Friday.
Recall that the officers whose identified was not disclosed was seen in the viral video holding wads of Naira notes sprayed by Wahab.
The officer, according to the statement, is currently detained for disciplinary actions as the Force condemned his involvement in the unlawful act.
“The policeman captured in the recent viral video shared by the sons of the lagos businessman, Chief Okoya, where they were abusing the naira, has been identified and detained for disciplinary action.
“The involvement of the policeman has been condemned, as it’s unethical. We will always strive hard to uphold the sanctity, credibility, and core values of the police. Thanks.” The statement read.
Meanwhile, netizens also called for the arrest of the billionaire son, labelling him as the main perpetrator of the offense.
