Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have nabbed a notorious 12-member kidnapping gang with cache of firearms and ammunition recovered.
The Police, in a join operation carried out by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Tiger Base Unit, and the QIT-IMS Anchor Base Unit, reportedly busted the deadly kidnapping gang linked to a string of abductions across the South-East.
The suspects, infamous for collecting ransoms from victims’ families and then killing their captives, were arrested in Rivers State after a coordinated operation.
They were however paraded in Owerri with a video shared on X on Wednesday showing the recovered firearms.
Some of the firearms include AK-47 rifles, shotguns, locally made pistols, and ammunition.

As captured in the video, some of the suspects tend to have sustained varying degree of injuries during the operation.
One of them could be seen with his head heavily bandaged while having his right ear stitched up with thread.
However, no official statement has been issued by the Imo Police Command to confirm the arrest of the suspects as at the time of filing this report.
