Ogun State Police Command have nabbed three bank staff and one other suspect over theft of N277 million from domicile account of some international airlines.
The suspects identified as Shuaib Oluwatobiloba Olaleye “m” 27yrs, Oladunjoye Adegoke “m” 33yrs, Austin Alfred 38yrs, and Jude Uzobuaku 36yrs had, according to the incident report made available to NPO Reports on Thursday, conspired to commit the crime.
As contained in the report, the police had effected the arrest of the suspects following a pettion by a complainant (name withheld) who is also a staff of the undisclosed bank.
Upon the receipt of the petition, the complainant was invited, and she narrated how the incident happened.
According to her, the prime suspect, Adegoke, fraudulently stole 138,924 pounds equal to N277,848,000 from the bank, transferred same into her domiciliary account which he later collected all the money and now the bank is after all his associates including herself, hence this petition.
The prime suspect was arrested last week Wednesday at Victoria Island in Lagos.
He confessed to the crime and made further claims that himself and two other suspects who are staff of the bank connived and carried out the crime.
A Toyota Camry (Pencil Light) was recovered from Adegoke as the proceed of the stolen money from the bank.
Austin Alfred and Jude Uzobuaku who worked at the Trade Services of the bank were later arrested.
They reportedly helped the main suspect in facilitating the transfer of the stolen funds from domiciliary accounts of the undisclosed foreign airlines to some foreign accounts provided by the main suspect.
However, investigation is still ongoing with the arrested suspects still held in detention.
