The Nigerian Police Force has released the official portrait of the new substantive Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
This was disclosed in a post shared on the Force official X handle on Tuesday.
The development is coming hours after the Nigerian Police Council’s approval of President Bola Tinubu’s appointment of Disu.
NPO Reported that Tinubu had last week appointed Disu as the new IGP following the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun.
The former police chief had tendered his resignation letter to the President, citing family reason behind the decision.
Shortly after approving the letter, Tinubu announced appointment of Disu to take over the role.
While the appointment is yet to be formally approved by the Senate, Disu’s emergence had sparked reactions from members of the public who largely commended the President for his choice of the former Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
