The Nigerian Police Complaint Response Unit has demanded more details on viral video of officers forcing a man into their patrol vehicle.
As captured in the viral video shared on X on Thursday, the patrol team comprising of six officers were seen physically assaulting the man in an attempt to get him into the waiting vehicle.
Passers -by watched on helplessly as one of the officers could be seen punching the yet-to-be identified man while another hit him repeatedly with a stick.
Commenting on the post, the Police Complaint Response Unit requested the location, state, date, and time the incident occurred as they could not be ascertained from the post.
“Dear @dammiedammie3, kindly share the details (location, state, date and time) of this incident for further investigation. Thank you.” the comment read.
The incident has again raised concern over the persistent police brutality despite punishment of several erring officers caught in previous cases.
