A suspected group of policemen have, on Wednesday, latched physical assault on an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) while injuring many residents during a raid of a housing estate in Osun State.
A video which surfaced on X showed the policemen who were on mufti physically assaulting the NSCDC official who had reportedly denied them access to the estate identified as Elizabeth Estate in Abere area of Osun State.
The video, shared on X by Inside Osogbo, also showed bloodied residents who were allegedly attacked by the policemen following their intervention.
Narrating the incident, the media outlet recounted how the policemen attached to Osun State Police Command had stormed the estate to arrest an unidentified man.
The NSCDC officer securing the estate reportedly denied them access because they were not in uniform and they also came in a private car.
In reaction, the police officers allegedly went back to mobilize other men in uniform who came with Police Van to forcefully gain entrance into the Estate by assaulting the said NSCDC Officer before being reportedly taken to the State’s CID where he has since been detained.
