Former Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos, Apostle Toba Oke, has passed away at the age of 64.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain and ally to President Bola Tinubu, further died in a Lagos hospital where he was rushed to on Friday, 7 February, 2025, due to complications from diabetes.
According to report, effort to revive him proved abortive as he passed away today after long battle with the disease.
Prior to his political career, the late Oke worked with African Independent Television (AIT) and was once associated with veteran musician, Sir Shina Peters during the ‘Asiko Youth’ era.
The two-term chairman Ifako/Ijaiye council Chairman was renown for his contribution to the his LGA and the construction of the council’s secretariat at Idiagbon Bus Stop, along College Road, Ogba, which he handed over to his successor.
