Nigerian music artist, Habib Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has denied attacking officials of the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA) at his bar located along Iyana Ilogbo, in Ota area of the state.

The state government had in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the governor on Information and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, condemned the alleged attack on the officials while vowing to sanction the artist.

Reacting in a post on his Instagram page on Saturday, Portable denied the alleged assault as he gave an account of how the officials had allegedly stormed his bar and assaulted his customers and apprentices.

“I didn’t fight anyone, though I may be troublesome. They just came, ordered everybody out of the building while I was sleeping.

“Where they went to is academy where I empower not just musicians but other youths as well. There are tailors, carpenters, and musicians at the building.

“They lied against us. My glory will kill my enemies. My mother died when I was 13 years. They buried her on a sold land. I went to rebury her in the house I built. Normal I build houses by the roadside. But if you want to cancel my house, come and we talk, that’s different.

“They came to my bar. They carried my properties; wound all my apprentices; beat my customers up and told them to leave.

“When I got there, they gave me a paper which I collected. Then I saw 2024 whereas we are in 2025.” Portable said.

The Zazoo crooner challenged the officials to present proves of the alleged assault.

He, however, pleaded for the release of his apprentices, bar staff, and others arrested during the incident.

“I didn’t fight anybody. They should post where I fought them at my bar. They should post where I assaulted them.

“Please I beg you in the name of God. Release those children. Their parents need held and they also need help. I’m only helping them. Those boys, those girls are like my family. They mingle with me. They stay with me and cover me.

“I didn’t do anything to you. I’m a star that can’t be killed. I’m an angel created by God. I’m a human being. I’m not perfect.” He said.
