Says Obi has no Chance of Election
- Safiu Kehinde
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has ruled out the emergence of a Northern President until 2031.
Wike stated this during a media chat on Friday in Abuja.
The FCT Minister and former Rivers state governor reiterated that the Presidency will be retained in the Southern region at the 2027 Presidential election as he faulted the Northerners culture of producing Presidential candidate at every election.
“You cannot tell me it is your own prerogative to be producing President all the time. Live and let us live” Wike said.
Speaking on the candidacy of Peter Obi, being a Southerner, the FCT Minister dismissed chances of the 2023 Labour Party’s Presidential candidate ever winning the election.
He described the former Anambra state governor as a ‘social media candidate’.
“Obi has no chance of election. I don’t do social media candidate
“I said I see that as a politician, and I analyse the candidate who is likely to win,” he said.
Wike claimed that winning elections in Nigeria involves more than just being the most qualified or popular on social media platforms.
“In politics, it’s not always the right that oh, this is the best candidate. No, no, no,
“You see Nigerians today, in politics, so many factors come in.” he said.
