The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has deleted a post on late former President, Muhammadu Buhari, after coming under fire from netizens.
Prior to the burial of Buhari who died on Sunday, an X user had shared a post of the former President’s campaign at Ibadan, Oyo State capital, where he was received by a mammoth crowd.
Commenting on the post, Onanuga threw shades at those who claimed the late Buhari only won the 2015 and 2019 polls with votes from North.
“A video to rejig the memory of those who claimed only Buhari’s 12 million votes gave him the Presidency in 2015 and 2019.” The presidential aide commented.
The comment sparked reactions from netizens who accused him of disrespecting the North and the late former President.
The presidential aide would pull down the comment amid the mounting pressure which failed to subdue as more reactions trailed the post with some calling for his resignation.
