Prominent Osun Industrialist, Chief Yussuf Amuda Lawal popularly known as Obelawo, has passed away at the age of 95.
The Ejigbo-born Prince and philanthropist reportedly died on Tuesday.
While no official family statement has been issued to confirm the development, tribute have since begun to flow as several media reports confirmed his demise.
Prince Obelawo, who is the Chairman of Obelawo Group of Companies, was widely respected for his entrepreneurial achievements and contributions to community development.
He is the founder of Lopin Nigeria Limited and a Pan-Africanist whose business interest spanned the United Kingdom, Cote d’Ivoire, and France
The business mogul was widely admired for transforming ideas into opportunities and creating wealth by genuinely meeting the needs of the people.
During his 95th birthday on the 20th of May 2025, President Bola Tinubu, in a personal statement, hailed him for his contribution to nation-building.
He commended his demonstration of integrity and excellence which earned him the recognition an award of the Order of the Niger (OON).
Prince Obelawo is survived by children, grandchildren and other family members.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family.
