Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has mourned the passing of Olori Solape Abolarin, wife of popular Yoruba monarch, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, the Orangun of Oke-Ila.
The queen’s demise was announced by former People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship aspirant, Dotun Babayemi, in a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
While the cause of her death remains undisclosed, Babayemi expressed his condolences with the royal house, describing the demise of the queen as a great loss to the entire Oke-Ila community and beyond.
“It is with deep sorrow that I extend my heartfelt condolences to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adedokun Abolarin, Aroyinkeye I, the Orangun of Oke-Ila, on the passing of his beloved wife, Olori Solape Christianah Abolarin.
“Olori Solape was a pillar of grace, humility, and compassion, a true mother to all. Her departure is a great loss not only to the royal household but also to the entire Oke-Ila community and beyond.
“May the Almighty grant His Majesty the strength to bear this irreparable loss, and may the soul of the dearly departed Olori rest in perfect peace.” He wrote.
Reacting to the development in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke expressed profound sorrow on the demise of Olori Solape.
The state governor described the deceased as a virtuous woman and a pillar of support to her husband in the challenging task of administering the affairs of his subjects.
He urged Oba Abolarin, children, family, colleagues and the people of Oke-Ila to be comforted by the memory of the wonderful moments shared with Olori Solape.
“The Governor conveys his heartfelt condolences to Oba Abolarin and the people of Oke-Ila and the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, where she worked before her sudden death, urging everyone touched by her loss to take solace in the fact that she lived a life full of impact.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin, on the passage of his beloved wife, Olori Solape Christianah Abolarin.
“On that note also, I sympathise with the family and the people of Oke-Ila for the loss of a mother to many and a beacon of humility,
“As much as her demise may have pierce a deep pain in our hearts, we must honour the progress in our communities that she stood for while alive and uphold the values of contributions that defined her life journey.
“While praying for the repose of the soul of Olori Solape Christianah Abolarin, Governor Adeleke enjoined Kabiyesi Abolarin, children, family, colleagues and the people of Oke-Ila to be comforted by the memory of the wonderful moments shared with the deceased and the fact that she lived a life full of impacts,” the statement said.” the statement read in parts.
Adeleke also condoled the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state, where the deceased worked before her death.
