The agitation for the release of Nigerian social media influencer and activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has on Wednesday taken another turn as protesters storm National Assembly complex in Abuja.
NPO Reported that the activist was last week arrest and had since been held in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged financial infractions.
His arrest had generated public outrage and campaign which on Monday plummeted into protest across the country.
Having visited the Garki branch of Guarantee Trust Bank’s (GTBank) where VDM was arrested, the protesters yesterday stormed the EFCC headquarters to drive home their demand.
The protesters would, however, advance their agitation as they marched to the National Assembly on Wednesday.
As captured in a video shared on X, the placards and banners carrying protesters could be heard chanting ‘Free VDM’ as policemen who heavily manned the Assembly complex watches on.
