Angry and sustained calls for justice are gathering momentum as more young Nigerians are trooping out to demand for thorough investigations into the death of singer, Oladimeji Aloba whose stage name was Mohbad.
Youths shut down the streets of Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital on Tuesday just as protesters stormed the streets of Ado Ekiti, Lekki, in Lagos and Ibadan on Tuesday night holding candle nights.
Protesters in Delta State had earlier shut down the streets on Monday in what was the first initiative to call for justice in the controversial death of the artiste.
“Justice for Mohbad,” “Arrest Naira Marley Now,” Arrest Sam Larry Now, Police, Do Your Work, “Find Killers of Our Man are some of the inscriptions on placards being displayed by angry protesters.
In Akure, the Ondo state capital, protesters moved from streets to streets playing Mohbad’s songs.
In Ilorin, Kwara state capital, youths filed out in large number to register their protests against the death of Mohbad.
In Abeokuta where the protesters mounted a huge protest, participants creatively formed a human graphic to write “Imole” the sobriquet of the late artiste.
Mohbad died last week Tuesday in circumstances believed to be unnatural.
His remains, which were buried the following day in Ikorodu, was however exhumed on Tuesday by policemen from the Lagos command for examination.
Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, had written requesting for a Coroner’s Inquest.
Many protesters are also calling for immediate arrest of Mohbad’s former record label boss, Azeez Fashola (Naira Marley) and one of his allies, Sam Larry.
Sam Larry has been accused of mounting sustained attacks on Mohbad since he quit the Marlian Records.
