The ancient city of Kano is in turmoil as residents on different political sides have moved to the streets over the confusion that has attended the ruling of the Appeal Court that was delivered last Friday.
NPO Reported earlier that the appeal tribunal had ruled in favour of the All Progressive Congress candidate Nasir Gawuna sacking Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigerian People’s Party.
However, in a fresh twist in event, the Certified True Copy of the judgement was said to have contradicted what was pronounced in the open court.
It was gathered that policemen had fired tear-gas canisters to disperse the huge crowds that moved from one major road to another in the city.
At some point, some of the protesters tried to make bonfires but were dispersed by security men.
