Questions over allegations of financial crimes, drugs, dual citizenship, readiness to step down in case of a consensus arrangement by the party have dominated the screening exercise for the presidential aspirants of the All Progressive Congress.
The exercise started on Monday in Abuja and it is headed by former National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
Among those who were screened on Monday were Governor of Jigawa State, Abubakar Badaru; former Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun; a pastor, Tunde Bakare, former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi; a senator, Ajayi Borofice, former Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajuiba, Mrs Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
Among other questions, the panel reportedly concentrated on questions such as “Do you have dual citizenship? “Are you the subject of investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission or the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission?” “Have you been arraigned by the Code of Conduct Bureau? And have you ever been convicted for a crime?”
