The reignited feud between Nollywood actresses Funke Akindele and Toyin Abrahams, has further deepened as Akindele publicly snubbed Abraham at the movie premiere of fellow colleague, Iyabo Ojo.
Both actresses had on Sunday evening attended the premiere of the Return of Arinzo,
While Akindele had arrived earlier and sat beside Iyabo Ojo, Abraham who came in late approached the table of the celebrant, exchanging pleasantries with Ojo and other colleagues around her.
Abraham was however ignored by Akindele with the former also skipping her seat to greet another colleague sitting right next to the Jennifer’s Diary producer.
While the actual cause of their rift is yet to be ascertained, it however appeared to have borne out of Abraham’s support of Nollywood actor, Kunle Afolayan, who earlier this year criticised colleagues making dancing video contents as part of their film promotion strategy.
This would not go down well with Akindele who had in December released the Behind the Scenes movie and made dancing video content to promote the movie.
The actress slammed Afolayan over his comment with the actor disclosing how she had called and accused him of disliking her.
Meanwhile, Abraham had, in reaction to the clash between the duo, took sides with Afolayan in what appeared to have prompted Akindele’s snub of the actress last night.
The brief drama captured in a now viral video had since sparked mixed reactions from netizens with some faulting Akindele for her conduct while others stood in her defence.
“Sorry to say, Funke just made things look cringe. Now she’s making herself look like a bad person.”@HANDINO_
“She is not ready to fake anything Some people are like that”@madamayo_
“Wait oooo! I hope it’s not because of Mr Kunle A saga sha?! Toyin called back and was kiking and doing the girl’s good ooo. Chai! Funke mind too strong sha”@Magical_Telecom
“This is bad, she wan carry this fight go heaven.”@Allure_scent
“She didn’t do that intentionally. She was glued to what she was listening to and it’s not possible for her to know what’s going on at the back”@folatheicon
“I’ve watched this video multiple times, and anyone who defends Funke Akindele’s unpleasant behavior is just as immature as she is. Since Toyin approached her to tap her, she should have acknowledged her. Toyin could have acted like a child and chosen to ignore her on the same seat, but she chose to be the bigger person and put aside their issue to greet her and she received that in return. Such a disgusting behavior!”@TheManAfricano
“Funke Akindele is a highly principled person, what she wants is what she wants, Toyin Abraham must have offended her before the event. As it is now, the only person that can settle the score between them is Bimbo Akintola. She’s the only person that Funke Akindele looks up to.”@DOlaAdeniyi
“I dislike people like Toyin Abraham, they hurt you behind the scene, act good in front of camera and when you react by not pretending and accepting the bullshit anymore, people start seeing you as the problem. Run away from people like this.”@sonexxxs
“Funke Akindele didn’t act like a proper Omoluabi in this situation. Snubbing your colleague openly like this is uncalled for. She should have at least done oju aye, it would have at least saved her from this embarrassment. She looks so ugly keeping a straight face.”@ay_mister
