A Nigerian man, Sunusi Danjuma Ali, has emerged topic of netizens’ discourse with his rare gesture of returning over N200 million worth of cryptocurrency mistakenly transferred into his Bitunix account.
This was disclosed in a post shared on X on Monday by former Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad.
According to the post, Sunusi noticed the deposit of $135,000, which was estimated to be over N200 million, into his account.
In reaction, the Nigerian man reported what he considered a system glitch to Bitunix database team in Africa as well as their official X (Twitter) account.
The teamed confirmed the glitch and he reportedly asked them to rectify it.
While Ahmad had commended Sunusi for the decision to report the case rather than withdrawing it, some netizens, in reaction, had also lauded the gesture.
Others however shared contrary view as they disclosed that they would have withdrawn the money as against the gesture Sunusi who was later identified as a crypto expert and founder of SCTv Africa.
Some netizens were of the view that the money cannot be withdrawn in as much as it was a glitch.
