An old tweet by President Bola Tinubu has been revived to haunt and taunt the Nigerian leader amid the ongoing controversies over the alleged genocidal attacks on Christians in the country.
Tinubu had, in the wake of the United States inclusion of Nigeria into the list of Countries of Particular Concern, come under heavy trolls by netizens who dug up his old tweet where he called out form President, Goodluck Jonathan, over the spate of Christian killings during his regime.
The President had in the tweet dated back to 2014 questioned the competence of Jonathan over the onslaught on Christians by the Boko Haram insurgents.
“The slaughtering of Christian worshippers is strongly condemnable. It calls to question the competence of Jonathan to protect Nigerians.” He had written.
With the onslaught also persisting under his tenure to the point of drawing international attention, netizens had over the weekend rephrased the tweet by questioning Tinubu’s competence in dealing with the killings.
