A yet-to-be identified police officer has been caught in viral video brutalising his wife over their children’s school fees.
This was contained in a post shared on X on Wednesday.
According to the post, the mother of two was allegedly subjected to the physical assaults after asking the officer for the children’s school fees.
The enraged officer, as seen in the video attached to the post, pounced on the woman, landing several punches on his wife while his children made futile attempt to restrain him.
This had sparked mixed reactions from netizens as some slammed the officer while others were of different view.
“If a police inspector can be involved in such domestic violence, imagine how he handles cases. Dear @PoliceNG, your attention is needed.”@DanielRegha
“Imagine how he handles his riffle when he sees a Nigerian with cash probably going to the bank to deposit it in an isolatad area during their “checkpoints”!”@nwaka
“See eeeh , there’s no excuse for a man to lay hands on his wife — but sometimes, that kind of violence comes from deep frustration, even hunger. Still, it’s wrong. The truth is, the Nigerian government needs to step up. It’s a shame that people — even government officials — are suffering like this. This isn’t how a country should be run bikonu 🥹”@Ikechukwuisking
“First, let’s talk. Every Nigerian security personnel deserves a child’s free education sponsored by the government, but that doesn’t justify wife abuse; every action has its consequences. @PoliceNG verify”@Onungene Ezechukwu
“So after all the sufferings they do for Nigeria and inflict on Nigerians they can’t even afford anything”@smartakukoma
“Give them money, empower both of them (especially the woman) and they’ll live “happily ever after”. This is not HATE at work, but a clear handwriting of P O V E R T Y.”@Olalekanakogun
“@PoliceNG this man needs to be dismissed from the job not just that also help the fam, if an police officer treats his wife this way they y’all should think what he has been doing to Nigeria citizens off camera, this is Brutal.”@EmmaFundz7g
“See how inspector dey live .. but we are fighting for a Nigeria that will give them all the benefits they deserve for serving the country, but they are fighting us. Oya nau”@izuobasi
