A South African man has revealed what he considered as reason behind the 1967 Biafra war following violent clash and protest over alleged plot to install an Igbo king in the country.
Clash had on Monday erupted in KuGompo City and escalated to East Londonn where several cars were burnt and shops owned by foreign nationals vandalised by South African indigenes of the community.
A group of South African women also took to the street in protest over the alleged installation of an gbo monarch in the country.
According to reports, the unrest followed the coronation of an Igbo leader, Solomon Ogbonna Eziko as Igwe Ndigbo of South Africa.
The move had sparked outrage among some locals over perceived cultural overreach and influence.

“Our Nigerians brothers are very provocative. What happened in Biafra back in 1967, it is now I understand. Igbos have a problem.
“You can’t just go around the world claiming to wanting to install a king on other people’s land. Where is Igbo king in America when there are more Igbos in Bronx, New York? Why don’t they install a king there?
“Where is the Nigerian king in Ghana? Where is the Nigerian King in Liberia? They are neigbouring countries” He said.
The South African accused the Igbos of undermining the indigenous ethnic groups in the country as he affirmed that an Igbo king will never be permitted in the South Africa.
“They come to South Africa undermining ethnic groups based in South Africa, wanting to install an Igbo king. What bullshit is that?
“Hell no! It can never happen. How can you be a king when there is a king?
“You are undermining the king that is there. Stop this nonsense. There can never be a king of Igbo in South Africa.” He added.
