The House of Representatives is set to commence voting on the proposed constitutional review.
Tajudeen Abass, the Speaker of the House, made the announcement during the green chamber’s plenary session on Wednesday.
Abass urged the Chairman of the Committee on House Service to put the lawmakers through the rigours of the electronic voting gadget attached to the seats ahead of the voting which, according to the Speaker, is likely to commence tomorrow.
He further urged the lawmakers to pay attention to know how the gadget works ahead of the voting exercise.
“When we come back to the committee of the whole later in the day, the Chairman, House Services, we seek your indulgence to guide us through how to use our electronic voting system attached to our seats for the purpose of the constitution review amendment voting that we come up probably tomorrow.
“We advice that everyone be attentive, understand how the machine works so that tomorrow when we come, we will be able to operate this seamlessly.” The Speaker said.
According to reports, the constitutional review amendment contained seven broad categories which include inclusive governance, security and police reforms, and fiscal reforms.
Others include judicial reforms, devolution of powers, local government autonomy, electoral reforms, as well as state creation.
