Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas, has on Thursday attended the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting for the first time since his appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
Ibas joined state governors and other NEC members at the meeting held at the State House in Abuja.
Recall that the Rivers Administrator was appointed in March following Tinubu’s declaration of state of emergency and the suspension of the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all members of the state House of Assembly.
Tinubu had, in a nationwide broadcast, cited Rivers unresolved political crisis and security concern as reasons for the declaration.
However, Ibas appointment have been heavily criticized by members of the public, groups, and organizations.
