A Delta-based HIV positive man who allegedly defiled his 10-year-old daughter and sodomised his six-year-old son has reportedly died in custody.
The man, simply identified as David, passed away on Monday shortly after falling ill at the Okere prison in Warri.
This was disclosed in a post shared on Instagram on Tuesday by renowned Nollywood movie producer, Seun Oloketuyi.
The thespian, in the post, recounted how he had effected the arrest and arraignment of David after the case was reported to him in March.
According to Oloketuyi, the man had in a voice note admitted to the crime which he committed despite already transferring the virus to his wife.
As against the family’s plea, Oloketuyi disclosed proceeding with the case and ensured he was remanded in prison with his bail application rejected.
Prior to his death, David was due to appear in court in October as his case was adjourned.
While expressing regret for not listening to the family’s plea, Oloketuyi held that he has no regret for David’s death, stressing that he got what he deserves.
The post read; “HIV infected man who defiled his 10 years old daughter and sodomised his 6 years old son, died yesterday in custody.
“His case was reported to me in March by his wife, how he allegedly defiled his 10 years old daughter and sodomised his 6 years old son. This man has HIV/AIDS and felt that his daughter should be his s*x toy.
“We swung into action and got him arrested. He was sorry and admitted to the wife that he really did it with his daughter in a voice note, and the woman was heartbroken.
“You gave the disease to your wife and still proceeded with your daughter. I was hell-bent on getting justice. The family begged, but off course, I am too stubborn to compromise on issues of injustice.
“He was to be granted bail last month, and I had to call the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Justice to express my dissatisfaction with the state counsel in Otu-Jeremi handling the case.
“In the end, he was denied bail, and the case adjourned to October. The disease had eaten deep into him, though.
“The tragic news came in yesterday from Okere Prisons that he took ill and was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
“I am sorry not to have listened to the family as the complainant of the matter, but I feel no sorry for him as he got what he deserves.
“I remembered how his sister came online to insult me only to apologise later after the backlash.
“End of Litigation. Over and Out.”
