Veteran Nigerian Fuji musician, Saheed Osupa, has achieved a new milestone as Routledge Journal, on of the SCOPUS indexed journals, publishes a research paper on his 2016 song, Jokosibe.
The research, which was jointly conducted by a Nigerian academia, Kadupe Sofola, and a South African Professor of music, Madimabe Mapaya, was received on the 7th of August 2025 and published on the 6th of October 2025 by Routledge.
Sofola however announced the publication of the research work in a post on his X handle on Thursday.
The academia, in the post, expressed his gratitude to Saheed Osupa over the accomplishment.
Reacting in a post on his X handle on Friday, the singer acknowledged the publication of the research titled ‘When Fuji Goes Viral: Social media, Sustainability, and the Digital Afterlife of Saheed Osupa’s Jokoo Sibe’.
Osupa congratulated the academia for the feat while also expressing his delight over the study and recognition of his artistic works.
He maintained that getting a paper published on Routledge Journal as a noteworthy accomplishment.
The Fuji icon expressed his gratitude to researchers and critique of his works.
He promised to go through the full manuscript of the research which according to him showed true essence of academic scholarship and rigorous intellectual engagement.
