It was another theatre of nightmare at the Old Trafford today as Salah-inspired Liverpool cruised past Manchester United in 3-0 away victory.
The Kops travelled to Manchester to continue their stellar 2024/2025 Premier League season campaign.
Seven minutes into the game, Liverpool sent shrill in the spine of Man United fans as English defender, Trent Alexander-Arnold, found the back of the net.
His celebration was, however, cut short as the goal was disallowed, bringing the game back to levels term.
The home supporters would be back at the edge of their seats again as Casemiro’s defensive blunder was capitalized on by Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah.
The Egyptian international launched on counter attack as he crossed the ball which was headed home by Colombian forward, Luiz Diaz, to give Liverpool 1-0 lead in the 35th minute.
With less than three minutes before the end of halftime, Casemiro committed another nightmarish blunder which was again snatched by Mohammed Salah.
His through pass again found Luis Diaz who doubled his goal tally and gave Liverpool 2-0 lead before halftime.
Both team were on loggerhead in the first ten minutes of the second half with Manchester United desperate for a turnaround.
However, Salah sealed Liverpool win in the 56th minute as he slot the ball home past Manchester United’s goalkeeper, Andre Onana, to peg the game at 3-0 for Liverpool.
With no subsequent goals from either team, the game ended with Salah bagging two assists and one goal in a man of the match performance at Old Trafford.
Liverpool’s victory against Manchester United extends their winning streak to three under new manager, Arne Slot.
The Kops are currently joint leader with Manchester City on the Premier League table while Manchester United sits 14th position after two consecutive defeat.
