Salman Rushdie May Lose Right Eye After Several Stab Wounds

Medics in the United States are saying that writer Salman Rushdie May lose his right eye after Friday’s attack on him in New York.
The author of The Satanic Verses was stabbed in the neck at a programme in New York City prompting benign air-ambulanced to hospital same day.
President Joe Biden, in his response to the attack on Saturday said This act of violence is appalling,” said National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in a statement. “All of us in the Biden-Harris Administration are praying for his speedy recovery. ”
“These are the building blocks of any free and open society,” Biden said. “And today, we reaffirm our commitment to those deeply American values in solidarity with Rushdie and all those who stand for freedom of expression.”
The author has been under threat of death for 33 years over the book The Satanic Verses.
