Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has, on Sunday, launched the Dry Season Agricultural Empowerment Programme.
The initiative will see the state government donating 100,000 bags of fertilizers, 500 power tillers, 2,000 knapsack sprayers, 10,000 water pumps, 100 residue crushers, and 50 fodder choppers to farmers across the state.
This was made in a known in a post on shared on X on Monday.
According to the post. Sani unveiled the empowerment programme at the Murtala Square, Kaduna.
Speaking at the event, Sani emphasized that the initiative is designed to promote year-round farming.
“’Today, we are launching the Dry Season Agricultural Empowerment Programme, a game-changing initiative designed to ensure that our farmers can produce food all year round.
“Kaduna State has also procured 500 power tillers to assist smallholder farmers in land preparation, 2,000 knapsack sprayers for effective pest and disease control, and 10,000 water pumps, most of which are solar-powered to support irrigation and ensure uninterrupted farming during the dry season.’’ He said.
