Saudi Arabia has caused an upset in the ongoing world cup competition in Qatar with its two goals to one victory over Argentina on Tuesday.
Saudi Arabia pulled off a victory that has left two time world cup winning Argentina in shock.
Argentina had also qualified for the final of the competition five times. Saudi Arabia is yet to win a world cup.
While Argentina is ranked number 3rd in the global football ranking, Saudi Arabia is ranked 51.
Saudi Arabia has never won a world cup opening match before but the story changed in Qatar on Tuesday as goals from Saleh Al-Shehri and Salem Al Dawsari help cancelled out the 10th Minute goal from Lionel Messi and helped propel Saudi Arabia to their first world cup win, stunning Argentina and the world in the process.
The South American champions went down to two early goals in the second half of the match at 49th and 53rd minute respectively.
It was an encounter where Argentina was expected to come out on top with ease but that was not the case as they found it tough to break through the Saudi Arabia defence.
This defeat leaves Argentina in a very tough spot as they have to defeat Poland and Mexico in their coming matches to have any chance of making it to the Knockout phase of the World Cup competition.
