Barely hours after scaling through the third reading at the House of Representatives, the N54.9 trillion amended 2025 budget has been approved by the Nigerian Senate.
The Red Chamber had at its plenary presided over by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Thursday approved the 2025 consolidated fund.
As read by the Senate Clerk, Andrew Nwoba, the total sum of N54,990,165,355,396 was presented for approval.
Breaking down the budget, a sum of N23.9 trillion was allocation for capital expenditure, N14.3 trillion for debt servicing, N3.6 trillion for statutory transfers, and N13.6 trillion for recurrent expenditure.
This was also confirmed by the Senate President who declared its passing.
