Drama ensued at the Senate plenary session on Monday after Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan yelled at Senate President , Godswill Akpabio, over sitting order.
Sen. Natasha blew hot upon resumption of the session after discovering that her seat was relocated.
The visibly enraged lawmaker argued with the Senate leadership as captured in a now viral video which surfaced on X on Thursday.
She refused to comply with the change, accusing the Senate leadership of discrimination.
According to report, the Chief Whip, Senator Tahir Monguno had raised a point of order, citing sections of the Senate rule book to justify the reassignment of seats.
He explained that the changes were deemed necessary in order to accommodate shifts caused by some opposition members moving to the majority wing.
The changes, he argued, are within the constitutional prerogative of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
This was also backed by Akpabio who ruled in favour of the order.
However, Sen. Natasha was denied opportunity to speak, leading to her outburst and affront against the Senate leadership.
“I don’t care if I am silenced. I am not afraid of you. You have denied me my privilege,
“Mr. Senate President, I have taken a whole lot from you. I will tell Nigerians how you have discriminated against me, how you have maligned me, how you have jeopardized me with your choice of words.
“Mr. Senate President, I am not afraid of you, and I will not leave this seat.” She said.
