A singer, Mercy Isoyip, aka Descushiel, whose video went viral after reciting the National Anthem wrongly has apologised to Nigerians and the Nigeria Police Force for her act.
Descushiel had committed the error while reciting the national anthem during the Conference for Senior Police Officers in Imo State.
Her action had attracted widespread condemnations while many took her for a police officer.
She however took to her Instagram page on Tuesday, to express apology over what happened.
The video was captioned, “I sincerely apologise for the error I made during the recital of the National Anthem, I know such errors are inexcusable.

“My good people of our country, please accept my apology, as well as my assurance that I will be more careful in the future to prevent such incidents from recurring.
“God bless the Nigeria Police Force. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
She said further in the video, “I want to say I understand the importance of the National Anthem. And I am deeply sorry.
The Nigerian Police gave me the opportunity to lead the National Anthem as a way to showcase my craft and also to project the collaboration and synergy that exist between the police and the citizens,” she said while pleading with Nigerians to accept her apology promising to also make amends.
