A yet-to-identified Nigerian soldier has been captured in a viral video assaulting and stabbing a man with his combat knife in Ekiti state.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday at Fayose market in Ado-Ekiti, the state’s capital.
As captured in the video shared on Instagram, the soldier appeared to have been invited by another person over a misunderstanding with the victim.
The victim could be heard challenging the man who invited the soldier, daring the man to beat him.
“Beat me na. Shebi you called soldier? Shebi you am?” He said, pointing at the soldier who was holding a wooden plank and his knife.
This had infuriated the soldier who repeatedly hit the victim with the plank before charging after him with his knife.
Despite quick intervention by onlookers, the soldier’s knife caught the victim in the arm as he was seen assessing the wound while others dragged the soldier away to avert further attack.
