Human Rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has shared a leaked audio clip of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, allegedly threatening to kill some Electoral Officers of the Independent Natonal Electoral Commission (INEC) over reluctance to rig an election during his tenure as Rivers State Governor.
Sowore had in an earlier post on his X handle yesterday labelled Wike a “crazy killer, drunkard-murderer, and land thief”.
This was in reaction to the FCT Minister’s statement over Sowore’s calling of President Bola Tinubu a criminal.
As heard in the video clip from a project commissioning exercise attached to the post, Wike had claimed that the Sahara Reporters publisher was lucky to have a tolerant President like Tinubu, stressing that he won’t be lucky with another person.
“This is a country where somebody on social media will say Mr. President is a criminal. Nothing will happen. You will say all kind of things, and nothing will happen.
“No matter how you see people criticise Trump, have you ever seen any American citizen or on the social media to say “look our President is a criminal.” Have you ever heard that?
“But here, anybody can wake up in the morning and abuse President and we are happy.
“You are lucky you have a President that believes in the rule of law. Continue to be lucky. There are those you will meet, and you won’t be lucky again.” Wike had said.
Sowore had in reaction accused Wike of calling for his assassination as he labelled the former Rivers Governor a murderer.
The 2023 African Action Congress (AAC) Presidential candidate would on Friday proceed to share the leaked audio alleged to be a telephone conversation between Wike and an INEC official.
According to Sowore, Wike had in the conversation threatened to kill the officials he allegedly bribed to rig a by-election for him in 2016.
As further observed by NPO Reports, the caller whose voice shared semblance with the FCT Minister issued a death threat against the INEC officials depolyed to Khana local government area for the by-election
He demanded the return of what he gave them if they failed to do his bidding which he claimed was done in Ikwerre LGA.
“Tell everybody to be there. Ikwerre local government did it.
“Don’t worry I will call the Plateau man now. I will tell him if he does not return my this thing, I will deal with him.
“I’m going to make sure that I kill him in this state. Just don’t worry. Call that coordinator of Plateau that I said he should warn his man in Khana.
“That if he does rubbish, he should refund what we gave him. That if he tries it, I will make sure that he never leaves this state.
“Tell him that he should warn him. If he is playing with people, he thinks he can collect money and beging to do rubbish. Tell him that they will see what I will do to him.
“Call the three coordinators that they should tell their people that if they want to joke with me, disturb me, I will kill them in this place before they leave. Or they should return what I gave to them, or I will kill them.” The voice alleged to belong to the FCT Minister had said in the clip.
However, there is no confirmation of the FCT Minister being behind the voice heard in the clip.
