The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) is set to host expert panel of industry leaders, legal minds, and veteran journalists for dialogue over worsening power shortages in Nigeria.
This was announced in a post share on the WSCIJ’s official X handle on Wednesday.
According to the post, the panel discussion will be held on X Space on Tuesday 14th of April.
The panelists are to be engaged in conversation on the theme ‘Blackout and Power: Who is Failing Nigeria and What is Journalism Exposing?”
This will include dialogues on the constant national grid collapse as well the role of media in coverage of the power sector.
“From the GenCos producing the power to the DisCos delivering it, we are asking the hard questions: Why is the grid still failing? What is journalism exposing?
“Join our expert panel of industry leaders, legal minds, and veteran journalists as we deconstruct the dark.” The post read.
As contained in a flier attached to the post, the panelist for the dialogue include Kunle Ajayi, Senior Daily Independent Photojournalist; Joy Ogaji, CEO, Association of Power Generation Companies; and Olu Philips, Senior Correspondent and Head of Energy Desk, Channels Television.
Other panelists include Angela Olanrewaju, Coordinating Head of Corporate Service, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC); and Yemi Oke, Professor of Law and Consulting Partner Power, Energy, and Dispute Resolution.
The panel will be moderated by Kimberly Nwachukwu, Head of Programmes, Real Broadcasting Network.
